At Autolink we carry out a complete sill repair service.
The MX5 sills usually rust from the inside out. The secret to a good sill repair is not to plate over the sill as most MOT stations do, but to cut the rust out properly on the outer skin, then to repair any rust problems to the inner sill, before welding in a replacent sill panel to cover the fresh, rust free metal underneath.
The finished result is painted to to match the original colour (usually black on the mk1) and the car will leave our care looking exactly as it did when it left the factory. The replacement panel will be seamless and invisible, the inner sills rust free and the repair should last as long as the original panels.
After painting, we also apply a sealer to the inside of the sill to fight against fresh corrosion in the future.
