The big killer of the MX5 is rust. Anything else can be unbolted and replaced, but when rust sets in it can be very difficult, time consuming and expensive to repair.
The trick is to prevent it from happening in the first place.
At Autolink we offer a complete preventative service. Commonly referred to as undersealing or waxoiling. This involves cleaning up the shell from underneath the car, unblocking all of the water drain holes and then applying a preventative waxoil (we use Tetroseal) to all under body areas of the car, including the shell/chassis, subframes, wishbones, suspension, brake and fuel lines.
Unlike many others we take care in removing the plastic arch liners to apply the Tetroseal to the metal underneath and also a coating on the inside of sill cavities through the available inspection holes.
This treatment, if performed regularly, can be the biggest factor in holding back corrosion.
