So here's a little guide to hydraulic lash adjuster cleaning.
Take 1 set of filthy hla's all placed in the same order they were removed from the head (be careful to keep them in the same order as they MUST go back in the correct location):
Pull them apart using long nose pliers, they do come down more than this but it is not worth going the extra yard as the parts are tiny from there on in and they clean up well as they are:
Place in cleaner of choice.. my choice.. through trial of what i could get hold of.. white spirit:
Remove from white spirit.. sprayed with carb cleaner and all clean and shiny:
Inside view.. look at the cleanageness:
Now all i need to do is add a few small drops of oil and reassemble and send up the a34 a few miles.. Happy days.
